The longer a memorial goes untended, the more the stone disappears into it. Nothing is ever lost - the memorial itself, its photos and its messages are untouched by the weather.

Memorials are open to visitor care by default, so anyone with an account can spend their own credits tending a stone they have come to visit, the way people clear a neglected grave in a real cemetery. The family is told who came by, and their names appear on the memorial. To stop one person from doing it all day, each visitor can tend the same memorial only a few times a day. An owner who would rather look after the stone themselves can close their memorial to visitor care from its edit page.

Can I choose a different headstone?

Yes. Every memorial starts with a plain field stone, which is free and is what you get by default. Three finer monuments can be bought with credits from the memorial's edit page: an arched stone, a granite monument with pillars, and a white marble memorial with gilded lettering. A better stone is not only nicer to look at - it weathers more slowly, so moss and grass take much longer to take hold. You pay for a headstone once, and can swap between the ones you own for free after that.

What can I leave on a grave?

Flowers, a candle, a small pebble or a wreath. Unlike cleaning, offerings can be left at any time, even on a memorial whose stone is already spotless, and you can add a short note with them. Each one rests on the grave for its own stretch of time and then fades on its own: a candle burns down in a few days, a pebble stays for months. Offerings cost credits and can be left by the family or by any visitor a memorial is open to.
